Your Health is our Commitment

At Kanika Hotels and Resorts our number one priority is the well-being, health and safety of our guests and employees. In order to secure that, we have set-up new operating procedures and guidelines, including a responsible plan regarding the exposure and prevention of the COVID-19 spread. These will be implemented across all of Kanika hotels in order to make our guests feel safe while staying or visiting our hotels.

Entrance Policy

To prevent COVID-19 spread, all of our employees and guests will be screened for body temperature and sign-up prior to entry. Sanitizing stations will also be available at hotel’s main entrance, back of house entrance, buffet restaurant entrance and other public areas (indoors and outdoors).

The designated points of screening for the policy are:

  • Hotel entrance (for hotel guests, associates, colleagues)
  • Back of house entrance (for management, employees, suppliers and associates)
  • Buffet restaurant entrance (for in house guests)

Sanitizing stations will include the following:

  • Surgical masks
  • Tongs to hand over the mask
  • Single use gloves
  • Automatic antiseptic gel,
  • Close lid dustbin
  • Hand held thermometer
  • Tissues

Check In/Check Out Process

  • All bookings will be advised to do an online check in through our web site
  • Guests at check in will scan their passport and use the electronic signature to complete their check in process
  • Room key cards, pens and JCC machines will be disinfected in the UV light compartment before given to the guests
  • Porters will advise arriving guests that their luggage will be disinfected.
  • Payment at check-out will be performed by contact less card payment. 

Guest Rooms

  • Unnecessary items or decorative pillows in the room which can cause a source of cross contamination and potentially can spread the virus if in contact with people will be removed.
  • Extra pillows in closet will be wrapped and sealed
  • Promotional material (ie. room service menu, spa menu) will be displayed electronically.

Guests’ Rooms daily service & turn down service.

  • All rooms will be disinfected.
  • The mini bar will be kept empty and guests will order through the mini bar menu any items they want in order to minimize the daily check from the mini bar attendant. All items will be charged as per the order by Room Service.
  • For All inclusive hotels mini fridges will remain as they are but with each guest change over the items will be disinfected.

Note: There will be a 2-hour time lap between departure and new arrival in every room 

Public Areas

All public areas (ie. Public WC, Lobby, Restaurants & Bars, Gym) will be cleaned and disinfected frequently every hour until 11PM.

Restaurants & Bars

  • Cleaning and disinfecting tables, chairs, salt & pepper cruets, place mat, and bud vase after every use with anti-virus spray.
  • Table cloths will be changed after each use by guest.
  • All menus will be scanned via a QR code, so that guests can see the menu on their smartphones.
  • All stools at the Bars will be removed and swim up Bars will be closed

Gym/Spa

  • A gym instructor will disinfect equipment between uses with anti-virus spray
  • Massage bed will be disinfected with anti-virus spray before every treatment.
  • Beauty room: Installation of plexi glass for manicure

Note: Spa & Fitness membership will be paused until March 2021 and a proportional amount will be refunded if requested

Pool Area

  • Daily cleaning & disinfection of all sun beds, tables, chairs and umbrellas.

Kids Club

  • Parents are not allowed to enter the kids’ club but a member of the staff can register the child at the entrance.
  • Creche will not operate until further instructions
  • Social distance regulations at the kids’ clubs are 1 child per 3 square meters and children will keep 2 meters apart.
  • The Kids’ club will be disinfected daily, toys that are not washable will be removed from the kids’ club, toys will be manually disinfected and cleaned with spray after every use.

Entertainment

  • For live entertainment in outdoor areas the distance between groups of guests to be 1 meter apart and the distance between the entertainers and the public to be 2 meters.
  • Indoor live entertainment will perform as normal, offering 2 evening shows per night, to give the possibility to more guests to enjoy (limited amount of guests during each show).

Social Distancing Policy

It is our policy to follow the social distancing guidelines in all aspects of the hotel’s operations.

  • 1 person per 3 square meters (indoor) and 2 square meters outdoor
  • Umbrella to umbrella poles: 4m distance
  • Bars and restaurants: table to table distance 2m
  • Maximum number of people per table: 10
  • Irrespective of the square meter of each venue, the maximum number of guests will not exceed 200 persons in outdoor areas and 100 in indoor areas.

Rules & Regulations

  • Hotels will be open for residents only.
  • Day passes for wedding guests will be allowed but only after the implementation of screening process.
  • All Spa & Fitness memberships will be paused until March 2021 and a proportional amount will be refunded if requested.
  • No business conferences or meetings will be held in the hotels until March 2021.
  • Local weddings will not be allowed until March 2021.

Weddings & Events

  • Hand sanitizing stand with disinfectant gel will be placed at all wedding venues.
  • Day passes for wedding guests will be allowed but only after the implementation of screening process.
  • Irrespective of the square meter of each venue, the maximum number of guests must not exceed 200 persons in outdoor areas and 100 in indoor areas.
  • The layout for the ceremony will be set-up based on the government’s restrictions and regulations.
  • Maximum number of guests per table is 10 for the wedding banquet.
  • No restriction on menu selection, wedding dinners that include the buffet option, masks and gloves will be available for guests that wish to choose this option.
  • Open bars are not allowed; guests will be served by employees.
  • No restrictions on number of guests on the dance floor.
  • All employees will wear mask and gloves.

Dear Guests,

We regret to inform you that our hotel, Alexander the Great Beach Hotel in Paphos, will not open its doors as scheduled on Tuesday 01 September 2020.

New re-opening date is Monday 01 February 2021. In case of change of date we will inform you accordingly.

Please note that existing bookings of future guests at Alexander the Great Beach Hotel prior the new reopening date are welcome to stay at our Amavi Hotel in Paphos or at Olympic Lagoon Resort Paphos.

Kanika Hotels Safety Protocol:
In response to Covid-19, Kanika Hotels have introduced a new Safety Protocol covering various new detection measures, hygiene standards and transmission prevention measures and policies following guidelines from the World Health Organization, various agencies and local health departments. The aim of these measures is, of course, to minimize the chances of an outbreak in one of our hotels, without significantly disrupting our guests’ holiday experience.

ANNOUNCEMENT - 29.05.2020

Kanika Hotels & Resorts welcomes the four-phase program for the gradual lifting of the lockdown measures announced by the Cyprus Government starting on Monday May 4th to July 14th, 2020.

The exact date when our hotels will reopen will depend on the positive progress and control of the pandemic in the source countries of our guests. We will be monitoring this closely and will hopefully be able to announce a reopening date soon.

During your stay

At Kanika Hotels & Resorts we have put in place a strict protocol to carry out a complete disinfection throughout all our properties and we will be taking additional daily measures for our guests’ protection within the hotels too. These measures create the necessary framework to ensure we can offer guests enjoyable and safe holiday experiences.

Cancellation Policy and Booking Flexibility
We will not be charging cancellation fees to our customers who are affected by Covid-19 cancellation.

Existing Reservations:
Guests who booked directly with us and were due to arrive between March 16th and June 30th, 2020, we will: ¥ fully refund your deposit, or

Guests who wish to rebook their stay directly with us for a later date can do so and we will:
• offer 10% discount cumulative with any other offer for stays up to October 31st, 2021. (discount capped at 25%) and,

New Reservations:
Guests who wish to book directly with us before the 30th of June 2020, for holidays commencing between the official reopening date of the Hotel and 31st of March 2020, we will:
- fully refund your deposit should your holidays need to be postponed or cancelled due to restrictions imposed either by the Cypriot government or the government of the country you will be travelling from and,
- allow for the balance of the payment for your stay to be paid upon arrival

This pandemic has brought great cost to all of us and we must thank the frontline health workers in all countries that have been fighting this virus to save lives and continue to do so.

As the safety of our guests and team members is of the upmost importance to us we are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following guidelines from these agencies and the local health departments to ensure that we put in place such procedures in order to minimise the risk of all our guests and team members upon the recommencement of our operations.

Here at Kanika Hotels and Resorts we understand and appreciate that your holidays in our hotels are important to you as these are meant to be a period of carefree happy experiences from the time you decide to book your holiday until the time when you return back home and relive those memories either through your many photos or discussions you have with you loved ones!

In order to ease some of the pressure to all our affected existing and future guests we offer the following:

For all our guests that booked directly with us for any of our hotels and were due to arrive between the 16th of March 2020 and 31st of May we will:

• fully refund your deposit paid if you so wish

Prevent the spread of COVID-19 - 17.03.2020

In the framework of our Corporate Social Responsibility and following the official measures taken to control the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) as announced by the Cyprus Government we regret to inform you that all Kanika Hotels and Resorts will remain closed until the 30th of April 2020.

The safety of all of you, our valued guests and our team members are of paramount importance to us.
