Kanika Hotels Ltd earns international distinction

Kanika Hotels ranks among the hotel industry’s global elite

Kanika Hotels & Resorts have once again earned recognition of the high quality standards of the  hospitality services they have been offering travellers for decades.

A series of recent internationally recognized awards reinforce Kanika Hotels & Resorts’ standing among the global elite of the hotel industry, while promoting Cyprus around the world as one of the most attractive tourist destinations. For the season 2012/2013, leading international tour operators acknowledged the outstanding performance of Kanika’s individual hotels – Alexander the Great in Pafos, Elias Beach Hotel in Limassol, and Olympic Lagoon Resort in Agia Napa.

Alexander The Great Beach Hotel garnered a series of awards: ‘Saga Good Food’ and ‘ Saga Top Performer, as well as the ‘Thomson Top Gold Award’ from the giant tour operator TUI in the UK, and the ‘Award of Excellence’ from Thomas Cook UK. The Elias Beach Hotel achieved the ‘Travelife Silver Award’, while the Olympic Lagoon Resort also earned the ‘Award of Excellence’ from Thomas Cook UK.

Trip Advisor, one of the most trusted global online platforms for independent hotel and restaurant reviews, awarded all the Kanika Hotels & Resorts Trip Advisor’s ‘Certificate of Excellence’ for 2012 and 2013. This certificate is awarded only to hotels that rank among the top 10% worldwide for traveller feedback.

Trip Advisor also ranked the Olympic Lagoon Resort as 3rd among all hotels in Cyprus, and 1st among Agia Napa hotels, in the category of ‘Travellers Choice – Top 25 hotels in Cyprus’. This award is based on voluntary feedback from hotel guests themselves, making it a valuable vote of confidence.

Kanika’s Group Executive Chairman, Mr Spyros Karaolis, reaffirmed the Group’s determination to differentiate itself from others by continually upgrading its hotel facilities and services, and expanding its social corporate responsibilities programme. He also emphasized the crucial role of Kanika’s human resources – the ‘face’ of the group, the people whose excellent performance largely contributed to Kanika’s success.

Aiming for ongoing growth, development and superior services, Kanika Olympic Ltd – a subsidiary of Kanika Hotels & Resorts and owner of the Olympic Lagoon Resort in Agia Napa – recently concluded a strategic alliance with Claridge Public – a member of the Lanitis Group and onwer of the Amathus Beach Hotel Paphos – focusing on hotel management.

Within the framework of the agreement, the two companies will proceed with the establishment of a joint company registered as Olympic Lagoon Hotels Ltd, which will be responsible for the management and operation of Premium All-Inclusive hotels, with the ‘Olympic Lagoon’ signature. The new company will undertake the management and operation of the existing ‘Olympic Lagoon Resort’ in Agia Napa and the ‘Amathus Beach Hotel Paphos’, which will be renamed ‘Olympic Lagoon Resort Paphos’, once the necessary changes and facility upgrades have been completed.
