Being part of the Kanika Hotels group means that we can learn from our sister hotels, so in the same way that Olympic Lagoon Resort and Alexander the Great Hotel approached their Kids’ clubs, we have followed in turn by opening an indoor dedicated area for children. Now for Elias families we have an extended season, more activities in the programme and a longer day of arts, crafts, dance, puppets, playtime, games…the list goes on and on.

The Olympic Lagoon Resort’s family entertainment and activities programme has established itself as the richest, most varied and professional resort animation programme on the island. In fact, it is often the X-factor that gives holidaymakers the decisive push to finalize their holiday reservations.
And now, we are proud to announce yet another dimension in the programme: the Olympic Soccer Academy.
What’s the buzz?
It is safe to say that soccer is one of the most popular sports around the world. From Ronaldo to Messi, football idols are what many a child’s dreams are made of; and an hour of kicking and passing can make a youngster’s day complete.
That’s why our entertainment team developed the Olympic Soccer Academy. Comprising three age groups – the Mini Kickers (3 to 6-year-olds), the Junior Kickers (7 to 11-year-olds) and the Kook Kickers (12+ years old) – this holiday academy is a 5-day course, complete with certificate and acknowledgement of progress and performance.
From Monday to Saturday, with a break on Wednesday, the participants enjoy professional training based on the Triple P philosophy: Prep, Practise, and Play. It’s a morning hour (or 45 minutes for the Mini Kickers) of targeted coaching the fun way, where children develop their skills as well as a team spirit, making holiday friends along the way.
Part of the package
Just in case you’re wondering, there is absolutely no extra charge for the Olympic Soccer Academy – it’s just one of the many ways we continuously try to upgrade and enrich your holiday experience.
Although it is not a strict requirement, we do recommend that you register your children before your arrival at the hotel. That will allow you to secure a place in the appropriate group and make sure your children don’t miss a single session.
Our coaches look forward to welcoming you!
A survey conducted by Travel Weekly magazine in the UK revealed that Kanika’s hotel in Agia Napa, the Olympic Lagoon Resort was voted No.1 in the category of ‘Best for Weddings & Honeymoons’ around the world.
The survey, which was conducted in September 2014, was open to all UK travel agents, aiming to identify the Top Ten most popular destinations among UK holidaymakers, from the bigger pool of previously compiled Top 100 hotels in various categories.
The Olympic Lagoon Resort concept satisfies the demand for an upmarket all-inclusive holiday with emphasis on superior gastronomy, full-scale activities and entertainment programs for all ages, alongside a choice of luxurious accommodation options. Another special feature is the ‘hotel-within-a-hotel’ concept providing exclusive adults-only accommodation, pools and entertainment, which is clearly appreciated by wedding couples and honeymooners. A second Olympic Lagoon Resort will be opening in Paphos in June 2015, and there are plans for international expansion in the future.
Kanika Hotels’ Group Hotel Manager Christos Pericou pointed out: “It is very rewarding indeed to be voted No. 1 by the UK market, our main market, as the preferred destination in this demanding category.”
Every day in every Kanika Hotel there is the chance to play,to laugh,to sing,to dance,to make new friends. And with an entertainment programme like no other, you can feel the fun from the time you wake up to when yo go to bed with a smile on your face.
Holidays with sun, sea and sand are wonderful, but today’s modern traveller wants more, and Kanika are here to give it.
Each of the five hotels that encircle the coastline of southern Cyprus is designed to offer the best in leisure, sport and
entertainment. And with the family in mind, Kanika have compiled a printed programme of weekly activities for both adults and children to be used as a‘pick and mix’ of holiday fun.
This wow factor continues when kids get their first taste of the extensive kids clubs – The Crèche for 6
months to 3 years, ‘Little Monsters’ for 3 to 8-year-olds and ‘Teenz’ for youngsters up to 17. Each day is a new day to explore activities and games with programmes full of creativity, all supervised by qualified staff. Children adore the cartoon characters that greet them when they arrive, but which will they love the most? Will it be Gigi the giraffe, Lucas the lion, Zorba the zebra or Bella the elephant? And which themed day will they enjoy?
With the day of activities over, it is evenings that so many guests look forward to, for this is when the ‘stars’
come out and in every Kanika hotel there is dancing and laughing. Families can watch their children perform, or there is the ever popular karaoke and quizzes, and of course, the excellent Kanika entertainers. Vocalists, tribute bands, magicians, hypnotists and the famous dance troupes are all hand-picked to suit each hotel. The dancers and singers rehearse their lines and steps for months and then they are ready to give their all, be it ‘Chicago Rouge’ at Elias Beach or ‘Talk of the Town’ at
Alexander the Great or ‘Pop Idolz’ at Olympic Lagoon – this is Showtime!
Games, sports, films, parties, discos, arts and crafts are for the little ones at every Kanika hotel, while ‘Teenz’ at the Olympic Lagoon Resort has Kinect, gaming booths,an internet room and even their own teenage club and bar. There is something for everyone and as one guest remarked
After all, whatever your age, everyone knows that fun makes you feel young!”
Enjoy the Kanika All Stars entertainment and see what awaits you at the New Olympic Lagoon Resort Paphos.
Celebrities such as Peter Andre’s brother Chris sing at all the hotels; they encompass the quality that Kanika aims to provide. For 2014, Kanika introduces Joel Jones, whose stylish, seductive voice serenades the crowd with his repertoire of Classic, Swing and Motown. On other evenings, the audience are treated to an extravaganza of song and dance courtesy of Chicago Rouge, The Jersey Boys, Michael Bublé tribute, Rock around the Clock show, Flashback through the Decades and the All Star Movie and Theatre awards, with musicals spanning Lion King, Joseph and Grease. The artists themselves are hand-picked from UK-wide auditions by Claire, and though the selection process is strenuous and the rehearsals gruelling, the final quality makes it all worthwhile.

Our flagship Alexander the Great Beach Hotel in Paphos earned the prestigious TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice 2014 Award, ranking first among the overall top 25 best hotels in Cyprus. Olympic Lagoon Resort in Agia Napa was Traveler’s Choice as the No.1 Family Hotel in Cyprus, as well as voted Holiday Check Award’s Top Hotel. Despite being a small island, Cyprus is a crossroads of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern gastronomy and therefore boasts a vast cuisine rich in different ingredients. There are countless traditional dishes worth sampling, and at Kanika hotels, each taverna is a culinary journey to true Cypriot cooking. Their carefully crafted ‘meze’, a collection of twenty ‘small plates’, is deliberately generous to introduce you to many dishes within one sitting amongst beautiful surroundings.
At Olympic Lagoon Resort, the Captain’s Deck is a cosy outdoor terrace restaurant flaunting panoramic views of the lake and lush tropical gardens of Fisherman’s Village. Blue Paradise with its all-white décor adds a Grecian feel to Elias Beach as you dine al fresco beside crystal Mediterranean waters and at Alexander the Great’s Limanaki Tavern, the spacious, open setting means every table has a sea view, and is embellished with beautiful stone columns and towering palm trees. ‘When visiting a country, it’s natural to want to explore the cuisine; and given our passion for Cypriot food, we felt it a responsibility to display our own take on meze within our resorts’, explains Antonis Nicolaou, Executive Chef at Olympic Lagoon Resort.
