Your Definitive Summer Holiday Packing List: What not to Forget!

Packing before your holidays is often exciting, but it can sometimes be a slightly stressful affair! What to make sure goes into your suitcase for your Cyprus break? And what to leave out? We at Kanika Hotels & Resorts  are here to guide you through your sizzling summer holiday packing list.

  1. Sunscreen

If you’re travelling to Cyprus for your summer holidays from a country with a cooler climate, you’ll no doubt want to stretch out onto the sunbed by the glistening poolside the moment you arrive on the hotel grounds. But be warned, the sun’s glare is very strong throughout the summer, and you should wear adequate broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. Look for an SPF 30 or higher; it will help prevent skin cancer, premature ageing and sunspots. Most importantly, you don’t want to burn. You may want to show off your lovely glowing holiday tan but building it up gradually is key.

  1. Wide brimmed hat

It goes without saying that just slapping on the sunscreen isn’t enough. Because if you sit out in the sun, you’ll also want to be sure to prevent sunstroke. Ladies can invest in a stylish wide-brimmed hat, while the gentlemen can look cool under blue skies with a cowboy hat or straw trilby. Just choose something that adds a funky flair to your holiday wardrobe!

  1. Trusty sunnies

The last thing you want to be doing throughout your holiday is squinting! So before you head off on your trip, be sure to invest in a good pair of sunglasses. In order to minimise glare, polarised lenses are best, reducing reflections, improving contrast, and visual clarity. Always look for a labelled good quality lens and for sunglasses that meet the European safety standards. And once you’ve checked the practicalities, be as daring as you like with the style you go for, whether you’re a fan of trendy oversized aviators or square wayfarers.

  1. Comfy open shoes

Forget about socks in Cyprus, all you need is a pair of comfy open sandals, as well as a pair of flipflops for walks by the beach and splashing poolside fun. If you do plan on heading out on day trips to explore the stunning natural beauty of the island, then invest in a sturdy pair of hiking sandals – they may not look super trendy, but your feet will thank you once you head out for a walk-through roads less travelled.

  1. Chic scarf or shawl

Summer holidays in Cyprus are bound to be hot, but saying that, evenings by the sea can be breezy, and it’s a great idea to pack a light scarf or shawl to just throw over your shoulders, should the need arise. What’s more, a colourful scarf doubles up as a great headpiece, especially when you want to hide the summer frizz!

Why Dedicated ‘Couple Time’ on Holiday will Boost your Relationship

These days, we all lead exceptionally fast-paced lives. One minute we’re dashing about for work meetings, and the next, we’re answering calls, rushing to grab a bite to eat, running errands, collecting the kids from school, and the list goes on. At the end of the day, we’re lucky enough to enjoy a little downtime on the sofa before it all begins again. And very often, we just zone out in front of the television or spend time browsing on our phone or iPad!

Unfortunately, however, somewhere along the lines, quality time with our other half gets pushed aside. Breaking away from the daily stress cycle is key, and when you feel the need to reconnect with your partner, nothing beats a tête-à-tête romantic holiday. Why is it so important? Here are a few key reasons worth considering!

  1. Carving out space just for each other

When you pack your bags to embark on a holiday with your loved one, you will immediately be setting aside space and time just for yourselves. And this is special in itself, because it’s so rare to have more than a few hours together at the end of a busy day during daily life. Date nights are important, but totally changing environment and looking forward to a holiday together is even more exciting.

  1. Creating new experiences together

Remember the first time you and your partner watched the sunrise or sunset together? Or the first time you went out for romantic dinner at your favourite restaurant? Relationships thrive on novel experiences, and you’ll be looking back at the new memories you create for a long time to come, as you re-ignite the love you feel and strengthen the bond between you in new ways.

  1. Appreciating time away without other disturbances

How many times have you sat down for dinner with your other half or tried to watch a film together and something has happened to disturb the peace? Going away with your loved one gives you the chance to set that ‘out of office’ email, let the wider family know that you’ll be away for a while, make babysitting arrangements if you have kids, and set off to enjoy uninterrupted romance.

Habits to pick up on your next holiday

They say that “old habits” die hard. We believe that when our mind is clear and we are on holiday we can implement new habits more easily and keep them. We would like to share with you six positive habits that you can pick up the next time you go on holiday.

If you are visiting us, here at Kanika Hotels & Resorts you will find a lot of benefits and you will find it easier to keep your new habits.

01a

  1. Be in the moment

We start each week running around, going to work, visiting family, maybe taking the kids to school and facing every day challenges. A lot of the time we are not living in the moment; we are thinking of what will happen tomorrow or what happened yesterday. Experts estimate that our mind thinks between 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day. That’s an average of 2,500 – 3,300 thoughts per hour. That’s incredible. Some other experts estimate a smaller number, around 50,000 thoughts per day, which means it’s 2,100 thoughts per hour! That is just mind-blowing.

How on earth can we be present if we have 2,100 thoughts per hour? Well it all comes down to training our mind to be present, to live in the moment. It’s like driving; we get better at it with more practice. The mind is the same; it needs constant training. There is a great book on living in the moment that you can read; The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

Sometimes when you talk with other people, don’t you feel that they are not present?  We all do it at some point. The reason why we are not present is because we are thinking about a future event or something that happened in the past and we are not in the moment. A lot of the time we are not actually listening to the other person, we are just waiting for them to finish talking so we can reply with what we think.

The next time you are on holiday practice enjoying the Mediterranean Sea, the beautiful sand, the blue sky, the hotel room you are in, there are literally a million things that you can focus on to be present. You will start living in the moment with your loved ones.

02

  1. Reading

When we were children we used to read books because our teachers and parents told us that we need to read; it was a must. Once we got our degrees we started neglecting reading books because…well you know, we don’t have time. Well there are hundreds of proven studies which show that reading a printed book has a lot of benefits.

There is nothing like the smell of an old book or the crack of a new one’s spine.

Dr. Seuss once wrote “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Reading a good book opens up a whole world of knowledge starting from a very young age. Exposure to new vocabulary not only leads to higher scores on reading tests, but also higher scores on general tests of intelligence. Plus, stronger early reading skills may mean higher intelligence later in life. Here’s a tip: choose a traditional printed book, Kindles and iPads are cool but research suggests that reading on a screen can slow you down by as much as 20 to 30 percent.

Reading makes you more intelligent, more empathetic, it helps you fight Alzheimer’s disease, it helps you relax and reading can help you to achieve better sleep.

The next time you fly to Cyprus and visit one of our resorts, get a nice book from the airport bookstore and enjoy reading in the sun. Once you get into a habit of reading at least 30 minutes a day on your holiday you are more likely to keep reading when you get back home.

03

  1. Exercise (walking or running)

Once you finish reading in the morning you can go for a walk. Here in Cyprus we have lovely beaches that you can enjoy. Outside Alexander The Great Hotel in Paphos there is an amazing side-road where you can walk for 30 minutes and enjoy the Mediterranean Breeze.

Running is one of the best butt-kicking, calorie-blasting workouts around. You can run anywhere. Whenever you choose to run on a treadmill, by the beach or in the street, it’s easy to get those miles in. When you run you can explore new places; on your holiday take your sneakers with you. You don’t need to think about pricey gym membership, you can start running with the right shoes.

If you pick up this new habit you will have a new excuse to eat more carbs; more spaghetti. During intense training you will need to increase your carb intake and it will help you boost your performance and boost your mood during hard runs.

You will live longer because runners have fewer disabilities and remain active longer than their sedentary counterparts.

You need a great app to keep track of your running, you can download an awesome app that tracks everything and keeps you motivated, it’s available on iOS and Android: Nike+ Run Club.

04

  1. Be more you.

The world is shouting at us not to be ourselves, all the adverts are telling us how we should dress and how we should live our life. We spend so much of our emotional energy on worrying about what others think of us and we all try to be accepted by society.  Practice being more you; wear what makes you happy, what makes you feel comfortable, what you absolutely love.

When we are ourselves we have more energy, we love ourselves and people around us more. When we try to fit into this world, we are not us. We are not ourselves. While you are enjoying one of our cocktails you can think about the things you like about yourself and really appreciate the fact that you are alive, that you are here.

Being ourselves is the best thing we can all do. This is one of the best habits you can pick up on your next holiday. Come back fresh, a brand new you.

There is a lot of information that says that we need 21 days to form a new habit, which is not really true. Jeremy Dean, a psychologist and author explains that after he conducted some research it showed that some habits can take around 254 days to form and some 84 days. However, the 21 days research is probably right if all you want to do is drink a glass of water after breakfast. Anything harder is likely to take longer to become a really strong habit, and in, the case of some activities, much longer.

We believe if you want to pick up a habit, you need to try and commit to your new habit. Here at Kanika Hotels and Resorts we have everything you need to help you start your new habit.

There you have it, five habits that you can pick up the next time you go on holiday. If you are thinking of booking a holiday, you can choose any of our hotels and retreats here in Cyprus. In the meantime, we would like to read your comments on what habits would you like to pick up on your next holiday, write in the comment section below.

How We Make Cocktails at Kanika

Kanika Hotels and Resorts - January 8, 2018

Have you ever asked yourself “what is a cocktail? What does this word mean?” The actual answer is the word “cocktail” was first defined in 1806 by The Balance and Columbian Repository of Hudson, New York as “a stimulating liquor composed of any kind of sugar, water and bitters, vulgarly called a bittered sling.”

The first time the word “cocktail” is recorded as being used in the U.S. was on April 28, 1803 in a publication called The Farmers’ Cabinet and in the UK there is a reference to the “cock-tail” even earlier in The Morning Post and Gazetteer in London, England on March 20, 1798.

We decided to share with you how we make our cocktails at Kanika Hotels. We went to Alexander the Great Hotel in Paphos and asked our barmen to share with you our secrets. Our barmen are well known for their passion in making refreshing and awesome cocktails. From hundreds of cocktails we picked five cocktails that we absolutely love:

  1. Hugo is a huge hit in Europe and in North America this year. This cocktail is a real hit for people who love wine and people who are still on the fence about it. To make this cocktail we use:
  2. Elderflower Syrup
  3. Mint Leaf
  4. Lots of Ice
  5. Top with Prosecco

There you have it, enjoy a refreshing Hugo Cocktail with a Mediterranean Sea breeze.

no1

  1. Mai Tai cocktail is claimed by Victor J. Bergenron. Vic’s story of its invention is that he created it one afternoon for some friends who were visiting from Tahiti. One of his friends, Carrie Guild, tasted it and shouted: “Maita I roa ae!” (literally “very good”, figuratively “Out of this world! The best!” – hence the name.

Here’s how we make Mai Tai here at Kanika;

  1. Bacardi White
  2. Dark Rum
  3. Apricot Brandy
  4. Almond Syrup
  5. Lime juice

Dark rum with Apricot brandy makes the taste unique. Enjoy a Mai Tai while you enjoy your view.

no2

  1. Pimm’s No 1 cocktail is a favourite British Lemonade. Pimm, a farmer’s son from Kent, became the owner of an oyster bar in the City of London. He offered the tonic (a gin-based drink containing a secret mixture of herbs and liqueurs) as an aid to digestion, serving it in a small tankard known as a “No.1 Cup”, hence its subsequent name.

Here is how we make our special cocktail:

  1. Pimms
  2. Sprite
  3. Cucumber
  4. Orange

Why on earth would you add a cucumber to a drink? Well, you will be surprised that cucumber goes very well with Pimms, for some weird reason it tastes delicious! While you let this idea soak in let’s see try a cocktail that is full of love.

no3

  1. Sparkling love cocktail says it all. If you are in love or want to be in love this is the cocktail to order! It’s a very light drink that is suitable for a lovely night out with your loved one.

The cocktail is made from the following:

  1. Sparkling Wine (Prosecco)
  2. Strawberry Puree
  3. Cranberry Juice

Here you have it, a light and sparkling cocktail. Strawberry puree makes the cocktail more elegant to drink. Let’s share with you our last but definitely not least cocktail.

no4

  1. Red Is Hot is a Cypriot local cocktail. The reason why it’s hot is because the cocktail contains Zivania. It’s a Cypriot pomace brandy produced from a mixture of grape pomace and local dry wines made from Xynisteri and Mavro grapes.

The cocktail consists of the following:

  1. Zivania
  2. Strawberry Puree
  3. Forest Fruit – Berries
  4. Ginger Ale

This is the Red Is Hot cocktail, for those of you that want something much stronger than the Hugo, this is the perfect cocktail for you.

no5

So there you have it, here at Kanika Hotels & Resorts we make our cocktails in a unique way for you to enjoy them. Next time you are in one of our hotels; whether it be Alexander The Great in Paphos or any other resort, try one of our cocktails and let us know what you think.

Today, the world “cocktail” is used to describe the collective group of mixed alcoholic drinks that we see on bar menus around the world. For us “cocktail” means that our guests enjoy and have the best experience of their lifetime in one of our hotel or resorts.

The company’s 2017 Wedding Report offers a picture-perfect glimpse of what you’re going to see walking down the aisle this year.

Move over spring and summer, there’s a new wedding season in town. It looks like 2017 is also the year brides will kick the nude habit and go for a more daring makeup look. Cyprus the Wonders of Nature

Cyprus, Kanika Hotels and Resorts - January 26, 2017

Nature has woven a rich tapestry in Cyprus. The Dwarf Cyprus Elephant and Hippopotamus remain only as fossils, but we still have over eight-and- a-half thousand species of animals and plants to delight you, some of which are unique to the island.

mouflonThe Animal on Our Coins
You may, unwittingly, already have come face-to-face with the Cyprus mouflon as the animal represented on our issue of the euro 1, 2, and 5 cent coins. Ancient mouflon are considered by some to be the world’s ‘mother of all sheep’  and the impressive species endemic to Cyprus is the largest of the island’s non- domesticated mammals. A protected species, it can (if you’re lucky) be seen in the wild in the forests of Paphos. However these impressive creatures are shy, move quickly and are incredibly agile. They have remarkable curved horns which, in an adult male can be up to about 60 cm long. From excavated mosaics, it appears that the mouflon was very well known on the island during the Hellenistic-Roman period.

carob
The riches from two special trees

Carob and Olive trees hold the culture and tradition of our island in their roots (or maybe we should say ‘fruits’). Fragrant olive oil is an important part of the Mediterranean diet; whole or sliced olives feature in Cypriot bread, pies, pastries, salads… and even cocktails. Since Mediaeval times, the island has also been famous for its carob trees, exporting pods, thick syrup and carob gum while carob seeds gave their name to the jewellery weight known as a ‘carat’. Carob mills were features of countless villages, though many have now been converted to restaurants or museums.

Wild Cyclamen CyprusThe Shy Pink Lady
A protected species, the endemic Cyprus cyclamen is our national flower. A small delicate perennial, its fragrant pink and white flowers appear in the cooler months, with the plant going dormant in summer – hiding all above-ground evidence of its existence. Typical of cyclamens, the nodding flower faces downwards, making it appear reluctant to face the curious world.

cyprus-flamingoBirds of a feather
Of 374 species found on the island, two birds are endemic – the Cyprus Warbler and the Cyprus Wheatear. The Wheatear’s main claim to fame is that it was featured on the country’s old ten pound note. Cyprus is also known for the many migratory birds passing through each year, attracting ornithologists from across the globe. The wetlands of Limassol and Larnaca are famous for the pink flamingos which visit annually (an estimated 15,000 were counted in mid January) and a rare black flamingo has also been spotted. www.english.akrotirienvironment.com

National Parks – nature at your feet
A trip to the impressive Visitors’ Centre at the Troodos Geopark will intrigue you with its illustrated history of the ancient geology of Cyprus ‘in a nutshell’, with stories alongside of the island’s famous copper mining. The nearby Leventis Botanical Garden has transformed the site of a former asbestos mine into an amazing botanical garden, where you can see 92 of the island’s 143 endemic plants – 37 of which are only found in this location. The Cavo Greko National Park, on the south-eastern tip of the island (between Agia Napa and Protaras) is home to about 400 plant species, including around 14 endemics. Many of the 36 different orchid species growing on the island are found here, as well as crocuses and irises. 14 indigenous species in the park are considered rare. The fauna include foxes, hares and hedgehogs, several species of snakes and lizards, and numerous butterflies.

How to plan the perfect wedding in the sun.

Kanika Hotels and Resorts - September 19, 2016

The Law

The law is one of the most important factors when planning a wedding abroad. Cyprus “the Island of Love” is one of the only places in Europe that allows foreign weddings. However those who are planning to turn up on the day of your wedding tie the knot and go home in time for afternoon tea, slow down!! You must be a resident in Cyprus for at least three days prior to the ceremony as well as providing ID, proof of single status and 128 euros to pay for the paperwork. Although you can be legally married in Spain the law in Spain requires one of the couple to be residence in Spain for at least two years. Other European destinations have similar restrictions.

marriage_certificate_810_500_55_s_c1

Location

Choosing the correct venue is one of the biggest risks when planning your wedding abroad. It is the same risk you would take when arranging a meeting on a dating website. Will the picture match the location? However unlike the date you will have taken a huge financial and emotional gamble and you cannot afford for your day to be ruined by an inadequate venue. Eliminate the guess work by using an independent tour operator such as perfect weddings abroad or trip advisor to validate the venues. Some of the reviews from other couples can prove useful when having to make that all important decision. When planning your wedding abroad it is vital that you chose a venue that will exclusively accommodate your wedding party. The hotel also needs to have to correct facilities to make you and your guests feel good on your special day.

Costs

Unless you have just inherited untold wealth from the untimely passing of a 100 year old rich aunt that you never met, your budget is important. We will provide some tips on how to save money on that special day.

Food and drink

Food is one of the import factors of a successful wedding day and good food will have your guests raving about your wedding for years to come. Poor food could have your big day been talked about for all the wrong reasons. Be aware with food price does not always reflect quality and an open bar can be a financial nightmare. When organising the food in your dream location try to ensure that you choose food that you are familiar with, surprises are not always welcome on your special day. It is vital that you arrange a tasting prior to your arrival in the country. Good venues will have a complimentary wedding coordinator who will help you with this. Always check your guest’s allergies and preferences before you select the food. Try to ensure every guest is fed.

image_11_40

Wedding drinks can be a minefield; do you want an open bar? Do you want the guests to pay for their drinks? Do you use Champaign or sparkling wine for the many toasts to the happy couple? What you choose to do is dependent on the type of reception you require, budget according to your needs. Remember unlike local ceremonies you will be all staying in a hotel so meals may take up a great deal of your time and cost. As well as providing breakfast on the day of the wedding you may also have to provide drinks as well. Try to ensure a fixed price check carefully for hidden costs such as local taxes etc. Good hotels will provide offers that will help you to keep prices under control. Ask your complimentary wedding coordinator to help with this.

Wedding Dress and Accessories

The importance of a perfect wedding dress cannot be underestimated however when planning your wedding abroad her are some important things to consider.

• Delivery time, it may seem so simple but this is often overlooked when you tell the shop your collection date give them the time of your flight not your wedding.
• Choose a dress that fits the setting a Barbie doll princess gown may look sensational in a church or luxury hotel but may be a disaster on a beach. Choose accessories that fit the environment.
• Plan the outfit for the climate nobody wants sweaty wedding photos.
• The material. Does it travel well? You should try to always choose material that travels well. As local alterations can be costly.

Does the hotel have a health and beauty centre? Always check prior to booking that you with have access to a centre on your big day. Hotels without a centre may be booked but local arrangements may prove problematic.

Weather

Planning a wedding abroad often means sunshine and blue skies. Add to this goddess of love and we have the perfect storm. However a literal storm her could destroy the most romantic notion yet the good news for those planning to travel to Cyprus is that Cyprus is sunny nearly all year round with the ideal time for weddings been Autumn and Spring with heat of Summer available for the most hardened sun worshipers.

Convenience

One of the major reasons for planning a wedding abroad is to make that special day a little more special. Using a venue with specialist and dedicated team means that you can sit back relax and enjoy your big day. The role of a dedicated wedding coordinator is to help make your life as stress free as possible. They can support and guide you through the most complicated arrangements insulating you from any stresses ensuring that everything runs as smoothly as possible. Allowing your dreams to come true.

World Environment Day 2016 (WED)

ARE YOU WILD FOR LIFE?
Let’s all “GO WILD FOR LIFE”!

June 5th … is not just another single day … June 5th is an Annual Event with a history of 42 years.

June 5th 2016 is the 42nd Celebration of World Environment Day (WED) on which day events worldwide are held to encourage awareness and action for the protection of our environment.

WED is the United Nations’ most important day, began in 1974 and has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries.

WED serves as the “people’s day” for doing something to take care of the Earth or be an agent of change. That “something” can be focused locally, nationally or globally; it can be an individual or group action involving a team.

Each year’s WED has a different theme that focuses attention on a particularly pressing environmental concern. WED 2016’s theme is the illegal trade in wildlife under the slogan “Go Wild for Life”, which threatens species such as rhinos and tigers with extinction. Wildlife crime also undermines economies and security, especially in developing countries.

Every WED has a different global host country, where the official celebrations take place. WED highlights the environmental challenges facing that country, and supports the effort to address them. This year’s host is Angola, a country seeking to restore its elephant herds, conserve Africa’s biodiversity-rich wildlife, and safeguard the environment as it continues to rebuild after more than a quarter-century of civil war.

More info about the history and all activities related to WED and to 2016 Theme: Go Wild for Life including illegal trade in wildlife: facts and figures, can be found in the following link: http://www.wed2016.com/
How our Team celebrates WED 2016 at Elias Beach Hotel …

As a symbolic action in our hotel, we have decided to support this movement, by bringing AWARENESS and EDUCATING children, and at the same time spread the word around how WE CARE for the ENVIRONMENT, through an interactive activity organized at our Kids Club; the Little Monster’s.

We have started from the morning by drawing different type of animals, such as elephants, turtles in order to educate children with all different types of wildlife.

As part of our sustainability efforts is to Reduce – Reuse – Recycle, we have then decided to create a big banner by re-using and re-cycling a bed sheet. We started from the morning hours collecting from the beach various materials which we could then use for our creation, such as stones, sand, leaves and shells.

We then moved to the Kids Club where we started drawing and colouring the big banner, consisting of various environmental slogan, animals, trees, sea and shore ,all through the eyes of children.

By the afternoon, we finished our banner and went all together outside to the gardens and the beach area to show our creation to the rest of the world, where all the children together have shouted the WED 2016 theme: “Go Wild for Life”.

Earth Day 2016!

Join the worldwide movement …
Do what’s right NOW!

April 22nd … is not just another single day … April 22nd is an Annual Event with a history of 46 years.

April 22nd 2016 is the 46th Celebration of Earth Day, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate and support the movement for Environmental Protection.

It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year. In 1970, the year of the first Earth Day, the movement gave voice to an emerging consciousness, channeling human energy towards environmental issues. 46 years later, more than 193 communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues.

More info about the history and all activities related to Earth Day can be found in the following link: http://www.earthday.org/about/the-history-of-earth-day/.

Today; April 22nd, 2016 we are entering the 46th year of this movement.
What our Team does at Elias Beach Hotel …

As a symbolic action in our hotel, we have decided to support this movement, by bringing AWARENESS about our ENVIRONMENTAL and SUSTAINABILITY efforts and actions and how WE CARE FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT, through information in a number of our hotel areas, especially beside the lifts, within the rooms themselves and through a board near our indoor Kids Club.

One of our main initiatives, which we are very delighted to present to you, with today’s occasion of Earth Day, is our Environmental Corner, on our lower Hotel Lobby area, near our Kids Club.

Together with the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research and Education (CY.CE.RE) we have agreed to begin a cooperation on an annual basis, and bring awareness towards various activities for our island; Cyprus and its environmental aspects.

Following this initiative, we have proceeded to the following actions:

Creation of an Environmental Board

During this action, we have created an Environmental Green Board, with the name: “We care for our Environment”, where we have placed a lot of useful scientific information and details for the major environmental aspects related to our island; Cyprus, that would be of interest to our guests, visitors and team members.

Among these, we included the following information:

– The Flora of Cyprus

– The Fauna of Cyprus

– General information for the Cyprus Centre for Environmental Research & Education (CY.CE.RE) – see more for CY.CE.RE history and activities in the following link: http://kykpee.org/?lang=en.

– Wetlands of Cyprus

– Beaches of Cyprus – Blue Flags

– The Forests of Cyprus

– Herbs of Cyprus

– Hotel’s Garden Plants

Scientific identification and recognition of 20 main plants of our hotel gardens, from the Scientific/Research Team of CY.CE.RE.

During the above action, we walked along our hotel gardens with our gardeners and members of CY.CE.RE, took photographs of our 20 main plants, and then proceeded with their presentation on our Environmental Board, with their name and a brief explanation of their origin.

Bronze Metal – We Protect the Environment 2015-2016

We were awarded with the above metal from CY.CE.RE, as protectors of the environment for the year 2015-2016.

Further activities are due to happen in the future for the upgrade of our Environmental Corner, as well as the awareness and sensitivity towards our Sustainability & Environmental efforts.
