KIKU Japanese Restaurant at Elias Beach Hotel

Enhancing our Premium All-Inclusive experience still further, we opened our Kiku Japanese Restaurant at Elias Beach Hotel in June 2013. The Zen-inspired design of the spectacular outdoor terrace offers our guests the opportunity to sample the finest of Japanese cuisine, watching the sunset and under the stars. All our All-Inclusive guests are welcome to visit Kiku once a week. However reservations are essential and can be made at the reception or via the touchscreen info kiosk near the Reception desk.

Visit Kiku if you are tantalised by the idea of favourite bites from the Far East with a modern twist, prepared on the spot and served al fresco in a Mediterranean environment overlooking the sea. All, of course, with à la carte waiter service!

Limassol Wine Festival 30/08-08/09/2012

Limassol Wine Festival

The wine festival has been one of the featured events in Limassol, Cyprus’s wine capital, since 1961. It takes place at the Municipal Gardens, just across the Olympion promenade, in the beginning of September and lasts for 12 days.

The Limassol Wine Festival was inspired by the ancient festivals dedicated to the God of wine Dionysus and honors the long island’s tradition of winemaking. The giant statue of a Cypriot wine-maker welcomes visitors at the entrance. At the festival, guests, both locals and foreigners, get the chance to try different local wines and traditional Cypriot food.

Although there is a small entrance fee, the wines produced by the island’s wineries are offered free of charge in unlimited quantities. Another popular feature of the Wine Festival is a traditional wine press. Folkloric dances, songs, theatrical performances from local and international artistic groups are also included in the program of the festival.

Limassol, City of Festivals

Limassol is famous in Cyprus for its festivals, like the Carnival and Wine Festival. The Limassol Carnival festival lasts for ten (10) days, with jolly and amusing masquerading. This custom is very old, going back to pagan rituals. With the passage of time it has acquired a different, purely entertaining character, with a large, popular following. The festival starts with the entrance parade of the King Carnival, followed by a fancy-dress competition for children. During the Carnival parade in the main streets, large crowds from all over the island gather to watch the floats with the serenade and other masqueraded groups. Many fancy-dress balls and parties take place at many hotels every night. Continue reading “Limassol, City of Festivals” »
