Alexander The Great Beach Hotel in Paphos of Kanika Hotels & Resorts, has been awarded as the "Golden Protector of the Environment” for the year 2018.
The hotel has been distinguished for its special facilities and optimal policies for water and electricity saving, non-smoking areas, recycling practices, reduced consumption and re-use of materials as well as waste management. Both hotel staff and customers are particularly encouraged to follow the company's environmental policies as an effort to contribute to improving and maintaining the environment for sustainable growth.
At the same time, participating in community-based activities, the hotel collaborates with local producers to supply fresh and traditional products (for the kitchen, cafés and hospitality gifts), thus supporting local farming, the idea of buying more local and organic products, nutrition and health.
The evaluation of the candidate projects was completed by the Scientific Assessment Committee in the presence of the Environment Commissioner and the representatives of all the cooperating bodies that support the Pancyprian Environmental Awards.
Prizes will be awarded by The President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Anastasiades at a special official ceremony, set at the Presidential House on January 22, 2019.
This distinction acknowledges of the group's efforts to systematic and responsible operations in environmental matters, a key pillar of the WorldWise programme, founded and followed by the Kanika Group which encompasses the Kanika Group Corporate Social Responsibility policy.
Alexander The Great Beach Hotel has been also awarded with the Travellife Gold Life Sustainability Award for the years 2015-2017 and 2017-2019.
